Commonly Asked Questions About LEDS
What does 6000-6500k (kelvin) color temperature mean?
Kelvin is the actual color of the light being projected- example 4000k is yellow (comparable to halogen bulbs) 6-6500k is a crisp white hint of blue light color and what most new vehicles, atvs and snowmobiles come with now from the factory. 8000k or kelvin would be pure blue light color. The most commonly purchased kelvin rating for LED upgrades is 6-6500k. This gives you the clearest white light output while still projecting far enough to get usable light.
What does lumen mean?
(Brightness) Lumen is the actual usable brightness of the light projection being produced. This relates to distance and projection of the light. 8500 lumen vs 15,000 is actual brightness or light output of the bulb. 8500LM will produce less light than a 15000LM rated bulb.
Do LEDS Make snowmobile headlight lenses ice up?
No, This is a common misconception about LEDS. Converting from your stock halogens to LEDS in almost all cases isn't going to make your sled headlights ice over. In actuality alot of LED Headlights run warmer than halogen bulbs. This is why LED headlights usually have a fan and ballast assembly with the LED chipsets. LEDS may actually help to reduce ice buildup on lenses due to the increase in heat output from the LEDS vs stock halogens. This is model specific and can vary based on application.
Do LED Headlights blind oncoming Drivers?
No. LEDS, just like any halogen bulb need to be adjusted properly. If your headlight assemblies are pointed up at the sky, then chances are, yes oncoming drivers and riders will most likely be blinded on low beam. In this example your low beams would act similar to high beams. LEDS don't blind oncoming drivers any more than halogen bulbs do. This is another common misconception. People are usually thinking of HIDS (High Intensity Discharge Headlights) These are different than LEDS. Just make sure to properly adjust your NEW LEDS during install.
Will LEDS work on my snowmobile?
Yes, If your sled is listed with a specific LED Kit that is sold, they will work on your sled. We get a lot of questions about AC vs DC current on snowmobiles and many inquiries if The LEDS we sell will work on an AC sled. Yes, if we list a kit as working with a specific snowmobile they will work. BUT PLEASE NOTE THAT SOME ARCTIC CAT AND POLARIS SLEDS HAVE AC CURRENT WITH TOO MANY VOLTAGE FLUCTUATIONS AND WILL REQUIRE PLUG IN RECTIFIERS BEFORE EACH LED BULB. Rectifiers convert the inconsistent AC voltage that some arctic cat and Polaris sleds produce to a constant DC current. Our LEDS have built in resistors that are wired internally to work in all applications. Some specific sleds may require an additional Canbus driver with wire harness that plugs in before the LEDS. This allows sleds that have issues switching between high and low beam to switch between the two with LEDs. This will usually be stated in the listing itself but isn’t always. If for some reason you get an LED kit that doesn't seem to be working on your machine, please contact us. All our LED kits are PLUG AND PLAY and Guaranteed to fit. This takes the worry out of it for the customer. Are our LED Kits plug and play and guaranteed to fit?

Yes! All our LEDS that we sell are guaranteed to work in your application as long as you order the correct ones for your machine. Our LEDS are Guaranteed to fit and are all plug and play, meaning no cutting or splicing wires unless it is stated in the individual listing. Our LEDS are manufactured to be able to plug directly into your stock wiring harness for your headlights and lock in place using your stock mounting clip. In some applications, the rubber boot that goes over your oem bulbs will sometimes need to be left off or it could be trimmed depending on application. This is usually just a moisture seal and the orings that are on the LEDS will seal any moisture out. Our LEDS are also rated as waterproof.
